The Kasetsart University Language Testing Center (KU-LTC) was established on May 16, 1998. It was initially an organization under the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University, whose duty was to offer services of organizing English proficiency tests that were standardized, efficient, and valid according to the academic principles of measurement and evaluation. In addition, its aim was to provide services to graduate students and the public wishing to use the test results to apply for scholarships to attend seminars, study visits, or training abroad, as well as for other purposes in accordance with the requirements of organizations both inside and outside Kasetsart University.
Currently, the KU-LTC is under the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University with an aim to upgrade academic services to be modern and more widely recognized. The scope of work has been expanded to include measuring English proficiency, including the KU-EXITE, KU-EPT, and TOEFL-ITP tests for Kasetsart University students at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, and for the public. In addition, it has conducted academic service projects that respond to the needs of society, the labor market, and the current situation.
The KU-LTC has also organized a cooperation project with The KU-LTC has also organized a cooperation project with the Kasetsart University Language Centre (KU Lang), Kasetsart University to support English language teaching, assessment, and evaluation services. It has cooperated with the project to establish the Department of Service Industry and Language Innovation, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus to further facilitate and provide KU-EPT test services for students and personnel of Kasetsart University and the public more widely.
